Q3 2024 Feature Announcements

New platform features extend Pathways from exploration into ongoing advising: a year-by-year plan for students, caseload tools for advisors, and an AI assistant that shows its sources.

This post provides announcements of newly released features available in Pathways by Advisor AI, with links to additional resources.

At Advisor AI, we measure progress by the value delivered to students and the professionals who support them. Our approach has been shaped by more than 100,000 hours of research, experimentation, and field learning.

Each platform release reflects lessons learned from real-world implementation projects, feedback from our growing community of higher education practitioners, and ongoing investments in student success research. We focus on supporting institutions with trusted AI infrastructure that enhances human expertise, strengthens student engagement, and creates more connected pathways from first interest to lifelong growth.

Consider an advisor at the start of the fall term, responsible for a large caseload and working through an inbox of student questions. Before she can help anyone, she has to piece together who her students are, what each one has explored, and where each one stands. This release was built to give her a home base for that work, and to give her students a plan they can keep building between meetings.

1. Progress Tracker

Students work from a year-by-year milestone plan they can complete, annotate, and share with an advisor. Milestones turn assessment results into a sequence of actions across the academic year, so progress stays visible and easy to share rather than ending with a single assessment result.

2. Student Management

Advisors can search, filter, and manage a defined student caseload. The list is built for day-to-day advising: finding a student quickly, seeing who is in their caseload, and moving from the roster into an individual record.

3. Advisor Dashboard

Advisors open to a home designed for caseload awareness, with student search, recent activity, and a clear path into Student Management. The dashboard gives advisors the same kind of guided starting point the Student Dashboard gives students.

4. In-Application Assistant

The AI assistant is now available as a chat panel on every page, in addition to its dedicated workspace. Students can ask a question without leaving the dashboard, Pathway Explorer, or Progress Tracker, so help arrives inside the task they're already doing.

5. Cited Responses

AI assistant answers include the source materials used to generate them, and students and advisors can open those sources directly. In academic advising, knowing where an answer came from is part of trusting it, and cited responses make that visible.
