New platform features enhance the core student experience: a personalized home, structured academic and career exploration, and an AI assistant grounded in each institution’s own materials.

Consider a first-year student opening the platform for the first time. She hasn't chosen a major, and what she needs to know is spread across course catalogs, career websites, and advising offices. This release was built for that moment: one place to see where she stands, a guided way to explore what fits her, and trustworthy answers when questions come up between appointments.

#### 1. Student Dashboard

Students sign in to a home dashboard that summarizes where they stand and what to do next. The dashboard brings current-year milestones, recent advising activity, and recommended next steps into one place, so students have a clear starting point from day one.

#### 2. Pathway Explorer

Students complete [career and academic assessments](https://joinadvisorai.com/blog/pathways-edition-1-announcement-adaptive-exploration) that recommend programs and career directions aligned to their interests and goals. The explorer is designed for comparison and discovery before a student commits to a longer-term plan, giving them a structured way to navigate options with confidence.

#### 3. AI Assistant

Students can ask questions in their own words and receive answers drawn from the institution's knowledge base, not from the open web. The assistant is available as a dedicated workspace inside the platform, so academic and career questions stay in context with the rest of the student experience. It's designed to handle everyday questions so advisors can spend more time on the conversations that need their expertise.

#### 4. Role-Based Platform

Students and advisors use the same product with navigation, permissions, and workflows matched to their role. Institutions can offer one platform, with advising tools reserved for advising staff and student tools visible only to the people who need them.
