- Guided academic exploration: Help students identify interests, strengths, goals, and questions before choosing an academic direction.
- Institutional program matching: Connect student interests to real majors, programs, credentials, and opportunities at your institution.
- Academic and career alignment: Help students understand how academic choices connect to skills, occupations, and opportunities.
- Clear next steps: Turn exploration into action through individualized degree milestones, reflection prompts, and recommended coursework.
Strengthening Early Exploration at Kutztown University
In a semester-long study involving 124 first-year students and five academic and career advisors, students used Advisor AI to explore institution-specific academic options, connect coursework to careers, and prepare for more focused advising conversations. Results found that the connected approach led to more students feeling greater confidence in the value of their degrees.
This was a wonderful program to use with my two College Freshmen classes in guiding them with a tool for early course selections and choice of major. It was 'user friendly' in its initial set up and students were able to be guided into course selection, areas of concentration and potential majors; and were given the opportunity at the end to discuss live w/ an advisor.

What has excited me most about Artificial Intelligence is the promise and possibility that it has to free up time for advisors to focus their time and attention on building relationships rather than completing low impact tasks.
Before Advisor AI, I found it tough to keep track of my coursework. I wasn’t always comfortable asking for help in person, but Advisor AI gave me the flexibility to explore my options independently and get real-time recommendations that fit my goals.

Challenge
Many students know what subjects, activities, or experiences interest them but are unsure which major, program, or pathway best aligns with their interests and long-term goals. This uncertainty can make decision-making more difficult and lead to students feeling overwhelmed.
How Advisor AI Helps

Students arrive at advising conversations with greater clarity about their interests and questions, while advisors gain a more informed starting point for meaningful discussions.
Getting Started
This pathway can be embedded within undeclared student initiatives, first-year advising programs, transfer student onboarding, and change-of-major support services. Teams can begin with a specific student population and expand to additional advising initiatives as engagement data is captured.
Program Advising
Challenge
Once students select a major or enter an academic department, they often need help understanding program requirements, milestones, opportunities, resources, and key decisions along the way. Important information can be spread across multiple systems and sources, making it harder for students to know what steps to take next.
How Advisor AI Helps
Academic Pathways bring department-specific information, course guidance, resources, opportunities, milestones, and approved next steps into one connected experience. Students can prepare for advising conversations, access guidance between meetings, and revisit resources as they progress through their program.

Academic Pathways help students stay connected to their goals by highlighting upcoming steps, providing approved guidance, connecting them with relevant campus resources, and supporting progress between advising appointments. Students receive timely support that helps them make informed decisions and continue moving forward.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of outcomes can we expect?
Institutions using our platform have seen higher student engagement in planning tasks, faster resolution of degree and course planning questions, and more meaningful advising conversations. Students progress toward milestones with greater confidence, advisors reclaim valuable time, and institutions boost student persistence and deliver a consistent advising experience across the entire student journey.
Does the platform replace academic advising professionals?
No. Advisor AI is designed to strengthen and scale the support only educators can provide. The system guides students through academic exploration, answers routine questions, and helps them prepare for deeper conversations. This frees advising and student support teams to focus on what they do best: adding context and judgment, offering reassurance, building relationships, and supporting students through the more complex decisions.
How do you customize the platform for each institution?
We collaborate directly with the academic advising team to build a knowledge base that reflects relevant programs, policies, resources, and pathways. Most institutions share existing materials such as program lists, policy guides, and advising resources.
How much effort is required to implement?
Typical implementation requires about 10–15 hours from the advising and leadership team over the first month. Advisor AI handles approximately 90% of the setup, and once live, students and advisors can get started quickly with minimal training. The self-service tutorials and intuitive platform help accelerate onboarding cycles by weeks. Most teams have engaged students within minutes of onboarding.
Can we calibrate recommendations for our student population?
Yes. You can calibrate recommendations, emphasize priority programs, and customize workflows to align with your institutional strategy and program resources, whether that’s improving first-year student engagement, increasing credit completion, or tracking specific cohorts.
How does this complement our current systems?
Advisor AI can integrate with existing student information systems, CRMs, and LMS environments through different methods. It’s designed to enhance, not duplicate, your existing infrastructure.
